For the film versions of the characters, O'Malley sent crib sheets that explained backstory, character motivations, and events in the book to Michael Bacall and Edgar Wright. Bacall then created a list of "ten secret things" for each character, according to O'Malley, for fun, and many of the entries were jokes: O'Malley said that the "ten secret things" documents were not intended to be taken seriously as character background. O'Malley created a height chart for the characters, printed in volume 1, but said "it's not really canon, and I never did one again, and the heights were always very inconsistent. I didn't pay enough attention to it.

As if juggling two women wasn't enough, Ramona comes with baggage: seven ex-lovers, with each of whom Scott must do battle to the death in order to win Ramona. Very fun film with loads of story lines, adventure and fantasy. This is one rare creative film that almost has it all.

When fighting, she typically uses an over sized mallet as her weapon, which she can retrieve from her purse through the use of subspace. She changes her hairstyle frequently and becomes anxious when Gideon is mentioned or brought up. Due to her power over Subspace travel thanks to the Glow , her head begins to glow when she is upset or jealous, though she herself is unaware of this until Kim Pine brings attention to it in Volume 5. Ramona now owns Scott's old sword, the " Power of Love ". Shortly before filming began, Winstead received a list of ten secret facts about Ramona's past. But things about her family she's kind of a tragic figure in a way.
